Myriah FarrarNever can I find the words to express how I feel about my job because there are no words! But here’s my best effort… I came to dance at the ripe age of 2, fortunately my mother owned the studio and I got in early (a tradition I started with taking in students at age 2 instead of 3-Terrific 2’s).
A nightmare more then describes my behavior at the studio for most of my dancing days, but somewhere in that, dance became EVERYTHING that I am and I changed. Yes it is my hobby, my source of income, my security, my talent, my exercise and even my way of communicating, but it’s so much more than that to me! It is my Life. I live for it everyday and somehow I am lucky enough to be able to share that with my students. I don’t always get things right and I am nowhere near the BEST, but I love this JOB. I’m so grateful to all of you who let me exist in your children’s lives. I only hope to better their life through dance, and share the gift that was so generously stowed upon me, one that I will never let go and one thing I can give them that will never let them down. I don’t say this lightly… DANCE IS FOREVER, I truly believe this. I speak it, I teach it and I dance it. I can’t thank you enough for supporting me and trusting me to teach my favorite thing in this world to your children. Credentials: I have been dancing for 31 years… I started teaching with my Mom Miss Linda at Dancer’s workshop when I was 16 years old. I continued to teach for many other studios in different cities even here in Yuma at DanceMakers. I love to teach, and I’m only going to get better! I promise to always give you my best and keep my energy high. I have won many awards, competitions and been asked to be in companies and shows around the world, but something kept me here, my heart knew that Yuma is where I belonged and teaching and owning a studio was my destiny, a legacy more like it, passed down from my Mother who is and always will be the very BEST thing to happen to dance in this town. |

I absolutely love dance and love teaching my students and I can’t imagine doing anything else! I feel forever blessed to be apart of this DW family. And I’m looking forward to my 4th season with you all. When I’m not teaching at the studio you can find me either teaching dance at my church, at the gym with my husband, hanging out with family or taking pictures of my baby Jacob.

Tap dancing is such a beautiful art form to know, feel, hear, speak, and truly understand. Tap is an amazing way to find your inner rhythm to express yourself. I am so grateful that I am able to share my passion with all of my students. During classes tap dancers focus on their art form as a percussive instrument. Students review Music Theory/Counting, Technique, Improvisation, History, and even a little Body Percussion. My goal is for the dancer to be able to recognize a beat and understand how to create rhythms of their own. I want to enhance their skills and provide a solid technical foundation for the students to build upon.
Life is what you create. Feel the beat of your heart, listen to your soul, express yourself. Let your souls/soles do the talking. |
Jamie Dusek
My name is Jamie Dusek and I grew up dancing at Dancer's Workshop under the instruction of Linda Farrar. After high school I took a break from dance, but returned to begin teaching after my children began dancing for Myriah Farrar at DW. This is my 6th year teaching ballet, jazz, lyrical, and kinderdance. I wear many hats at the studio, including president of JAMS Dance Company, and Myriah‘s “right hand man.” I am a fool for great technique, and ballet is my favorite genre of dance! I am married and have 8 kids, 4 of which are dancers!

Mary K Myal
I was born in Canada & raised here in Yuma. I started my gymnastics & dance journey at 3/4 years old here at Dancer's Workshop & Linda was my first dance & gymnastics teacher. From then on, I fell in love with dance & gymnastics. I trained ballet until age 11 & did one season of tap. After the age of 11, I stuck with gymnastics. In high school, I competed for Kofa's gymnastics team starting in 1989-1992. In spring of 1992, I tore my ACL & my competitive career ended. Soon after, I shifted my focus on coaching after graduation 30 years ago. My love for the sport grew & decided to study kinesiology in college. So I went to college at HIU & Cal State Fullerton to better my understanding on how the body works. While there, I coached at CSUF's rec program-best four years of my life. I also had the opportunity to be a judge's liaison for two seasons for the college meets. It was an honor. I then worked at Kips School of Gymnastics post college. Grateful for the opportunity. Moved to Colorado for a couple of months & then came back to Yuma. Then in 2005, I started working at Gymnastics World & was there for 17 years. Then in November of 2022, I joined Dancer's Workshop where it all started for me. I am grateful for the opportunity to be there to coach & inspire the kids. It brings me joy to see all the kids' hard work pay off & grow. It's why I love what I do.

rylee farrarMy name is Rylee Farrar! I’m 18 years old and I have been training at Dancer’s Workshop since I was 2! I have attended many competitions and conventions as a member of our JAMS Dance Competition Team. I have grown as a person inside and outside of the studio with the help and love from our wonderful staff. I started out as a teacher assistant when I was 15, and now I have been teaching my own classes for the past two years! love seeing kids find their love for a sport that pushes them to test their limits and find confidence they didn’t know they had. Teaching kids the fundamentals and understanding of dance/gymnastics is such a rewarding experience. I’m so excited for this coming season and I can’t wait to watch all these kids grow and achieve great things!!!

camila gonzalez
I am Camila Gonzalez, and I’m 20 years old. Dance has been and always will be an incredible part of my life. I have dedicated 16 years of my life to this art! I am so grateful with all of the training and knowledge I’ve accumulated from the best variety of instructors over my career, to pass it along to the future generations. Through dance, I have found a passion for teaching and connecting with children. I’m currently working on my bachelors in elementary education at AWC. My overall goal as a dance teacher is to help every child who steps foot in the studio, shine bright on stage AND in life. Students have won top awards for my choreographies at competition, but the medals and trophies are not as important as the accomplishments and growth my students experience in the classroom. I cherish every memory that I’ve made helping a child discover themselves through artistic movement, and I’m so excited to make even more here at Dancer’s Workshop!

cassandra
My name is Cassandra but better known as Coach Cassie! Im 30 years old and brought up in Yuma. This will be my first year coaching at Dancers Workshop but I’ve been coaching gymnastics for about 5 years and did all around gymnastics throughout my childhood.I’ve coached a variety of levels as well as performing teams and some boys gymnastics. This sport has always been my passion and although it’s super fun I understand it's not easy. Gymnastics has definitely taught me a lot more than just amazing flips and tricks. It has taught me self-discipline, strength, ambition and trust, but most importantly gymnastics teaches you to work hard and never give up. All these traits I hope to pass onto each and every student. My favorite thing about coaching is seeing these young kids strive for greatness and watching them make progress. I'm excited to see our students grow outside of their comfort zone and reach their goals.

EMILY COMBS
I started dancing when I was almost 4 years old. I have trained in various styles such as ballet, jazz, modern/contemporary, tap, African, pointe, and my favorite hip hop. I have attended Debbie Allen's Dance Academy for two summers in 2015 and 2016. Shortly after my time there I was offered a spot in the Millennium's dance Company and Crew. I was offered the most professional dance training as well as opportunities such as auditioning for the World of Dance stage. Dance has always been a huge part of my life and I would love to be apart of my students’ dance journeys.
