Myriah FarrarNever can I find the words to express how I feel about my job because there are no words! But here’s my best effort… I came to dance at the ripe age of 2, fortunately my mother owned the studio and I got in early (a tradition I started with taking in students at age 2 instead of 3-Terrific 2’s).
A nightmare more then describes my behavior at the studio for most of my dancing days, but somewhere in that, dance became EVERYTHING that I am and I changed. Yes it is my hobby, my source of income, my security, my talent, my exercise and even my way of communicating, but it’s so much more than that to me! It is my Life. I live for it everyday and somehow I am lucky enough to be able to share that with my students. I don’t always get things right and I am nowhere near the BEST, but I love this JOB. I’m so grateful to all of you who let me exist in your children’s lives. I only hope to better their life through dance, and share the gift that was so generously stowed upon me, one that I will never let go and one thing I can give them that will never let them down. I don’t say this lightly… DANCE IS FOREVER, I truly believe this. I speak it, I teach it and I dance it. I can’t thank you enough for supporting me and trusting me to teach my favorite thing in this world to your children. Credentials: I have been dancing for 31 years… I started teaching with my Mom Miss Linda at Dancer’s workshop when I was 16 years old. I continued to teach for many other studios in different cities even here in Yuma at DanceMakers. I love to teach, and I’m only going to get better! I promise to always give you my best and keep my energy high. I have won many awards, competitions and been asked to be in companies and shows around the world, but something kept me here, my heart knew that Yuma is where I belonged and teaching and owning a studio was my destiny, a legacy more like it, passed down from my Mother who is and always will be the very BEST thing to happen to dance in this town. |
Allison bohner
My name is Alli Bohner and I’m a Yuma native. I started dancing and doing gymnastics at 3 years old. I fell in love with dance at age 10 and decided to focus solely on dance. I’ve been trained in Ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, acrobatics and tumbling. I started teaching at the age of 17, and I’m finishing up my 13th year of teaching. I absolutely love dance and love teaching my students and I can’t imagine doing anything else! I feel forever blessed to be apart of this DW family. And I’m looking forward to my 4th season with you all. When I’m not teaching at the studio you can find me either teaching dance at my church, at the gym with my husband, hanging out with family or taking pictures of my baby Jacob.

Tap dancing is such a beautiful art form to know, feel, hear, speak, and truly understand. Tap is an amazing way to find your inner rhythm to express yourself. I am so grateful that I am able to share my passion with all of my students. During classes tap dancers focus on their art form as a percussive instrument. Students review Music Theory/Counting, Technique, Improvisation, History, and even a little Body Percussion. My goal is for the dancer to be able to recognize a beat and understand how to create rhythms of their own. I want to enhance their skills and provide a solid technical foundation for the students to build upon.
Life is what you create. Feel the beat of your heart, listen to your soul, express yourself. Let your souls/soles do the talking. |
Mary K Myal
I was born in Canada & raised here in Yuma. I started my gymnastics & dance journey at 3/4 years old here at Dancer's Workshop & Linda was my first dance & gymnastics teacher. From then on, I fell in love with dance & gymnastics. I trained ballet until age 11 & did one season of tap. After the age of 11, I stuck with gymnastics. In high school, I competed for Kofa's gymnastics team starting in 1989-1992. In spring of 1992, I tore my ACL & my competitive career ended. Soon after, I shifted my focus on coaching after graduation 30 years ago. My love for the sport grew & decided to study kinesiology in college. So I went to college at HIU & Cal State Fullerton to better my understanding on how the body works. While there, I coached at CSUF's rec program-best four years of my life. I also had the opportunity to be a judge's liaison for two seasons for the college meets. It was an honor. I then worked at Kips School of Gymnastics post college. Grateful for the opportunity. Moved to Colorado for a couple of months & then came back to Yuma. Then in 2005, I started working at Gymnastics World & was there for 17 years. Then in November of 2022, I joined Dancer's Workshop where it all started for me. I am grateful for the opportunity to be there to coach & inspire the kids. It brings me joy to see all the kids' hard work pay off & grow. It's why I love what I do.

Bailey Elias
My name is Bailey and I am so excited to join the DW staff! I started dancing around 9 and have loved it ever since. I have been to many competitions throughout my dancing years, was vice president of my high school dance team and taught lots of classes. I taught hip hop classes at Dancers Workshop in the past and have been volunteering to help since my oldest daughter joined. I am a mom of 3 crazy, beautiful children who also love to be at the dance studio with me. On top of all that, I am also a business owner! I can’t wait to build a bond with all of my students and teach them how great dance is for them!

Alina hope
I’m Alina Hope and I'm 21 years old! I’ve been dancing since I was 3 years old, and it’s been my greatest passion ever since. Originally from Indiana, I spent two years in West Virginia before making Yuma my new home. I danced competitively for 8 years, both on a studio and school team, and I’ve tried just about every style of dance out there. Hip-hop and jazz are my favorites—they let me express myself in the most fun and energetic ways! I’m always excited to share that joy with others, whether it’s teaching other dancers or just dancing for the pure fun of it. I believe that dance is for everyone, and I can’t wait to connect with all the dancers and help them fall in love with dance just like I did!

Cassidy HallI’m Cassidy Hall, I have done competitive cheer and dance from ages of 4-16. After that I took on cheer, dance, and gymnastics at my highschool in San Diego where I was born and raised. I graduated college with a degree in respiratory therapy and started my own in home care business taking care of elderly! My husband and I recently got married back in October and moved here to Yuma in December!
This sport was a huge part of my life growing up so it’s very exciting for me to be able to share what I’ve learned over the years with the kids today! As a teacher what I feel is most important is to make sure the kids are able to feel comfortable and confident in learning new things but also have a blast while doing it. I know it can be scary trying something new but I hope to be able to make coming to the gym not only a safe environment but also one they look forward to being apart of every-time they step on the mat. |
