Preschool, Terrific TWO’S, and Mommy & Me- We have special classes for the parent assist ages as well as the intro of socialization in our Terrific Twos’ class . Age three is a perfect age to begin a more extended independent dance training. Children naturally run, skip, jump, and turn and as we add discipline, creativity, and structure they will learn basic movements of dance, counting to music, sequencing, and moving together as a group. We incorporate tumbling for strength and flexibility and dramatic arts for imagination and self discipline.
Toddler Tumble- This 45 minute class will introduce dancers to the basics of tumbling this class focuses on coordination and skills such as rolls, crab walks, somersaults, activities on mats and trampoline. Dancers will build strength, balance, flexibility and coordination skills. Acro- A fun and beneficial form of conditioning that not only increases strength, flexibility, endurance, but is unique in training athletes on developing both sides of their young, growing bodies. Pre-Dance/KinderDance- Pre-dance classes are designed for children from the age of 3 years to 5 years of age. Pre-dance classes are combination classes that teach basic dance positions, steps and exercises. The very basic of the pre-dance classes begin with a minimal structure base with subsequent pre-dance classes of graduating advancement of classroom structure and discipline. The most advanced pre-dance level, kindercombo, is a structured and disciplined learning environment designed to take the young dancer into beginning levels with recognition of basic steps and terms . Basic steps, exercises and terms are taught in a loving, fun and playful way. Ballet- Ballet is the foundation of all dance forms. Students will learn discipline, grace, and movement, along with interpretation. Progression is gradual. The dancer will begin their classical Ballet training with Inroduction to Ballet. As they master the required skills, they will progress to the next level of Ballet. The ultimate goal of the Ballerina is to perform on Pointe. When the instructor feels a ballerina is ready, she will begin her pointe training. Jazz- A highly energetic and athletic style of the dance arts. Much of the music is kid-friendly with a variety of dance style ages used to develop a well-rounded dancer. This style of dance is one of the most exciting and powerful. It benefits the student in many ways as strength, agility, power, jumping, endurance and lyrical styles are incorporated into their training all of which have a strong carry-over into ballet, tap, cheerleading, acro, and hip-hop. good ballet foundation and progression in levels is important in Jazz training. Tap- Students interested in learning a fun, challenging, and stimulating form of dance will enjoy Tap dancing. This form of dance teaches musicality, timing, synchronization, and rapid mental response. Movement memory is stressed and advanced in tap classes. Hip-Hop- This contemporary style of dance is very popular and adds tons of fun to the dancers training. Just watch a class. However, watch out! You may be joining them! Lyrical & Contemporary-Both styles combine modern, jazz, and ballet. They are highly creative forms of dance allowing individual expression, building grace, control, and self-confidence. Lyrical relies on music’s verbal expression. The mature dancer who is interested in developing their movement sense and choreographic ability has unusual success here. DANCE EDUCATION
THE ARTS: Such a vital part of our culture, education, and imagination! Introducing the arts to children at an early age give them a foundation based upon our uniqueness as individuals. As they develop a recognition of the various art forms, they become artistically educated, which fosters awareness, acceptance, and an appreciation for arts.
DANCE: Movement is stimulating, movement is discovering, movement is discipline, movement is life. Developing the discipline of dance at an early age and continuing on as long as possible helps one to move through life in the most enjoyable way. When “kids take to the stage” they are taken somewhere important-on a journey of personal, social, and ethical discovery. DEVELOPMENT: Our structured and developmental curriculum is designed to provide children with a strong foundation in dance and gradually progressing to more challenging endeavors. Dance students learn respect for others, concepts of physical and intellectual awareness, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles. INDIVIDUAL: A limited class size is vital to the safety and development of the dancer. Our aim is to keep classes small so that individual guidance and attention is attained. EDUCATION: Evidence has shown that training young children in music, dance, and drama provides a strong Foundation for the development of reading, mathematics, and many other educational skills. |
